Elim Befriending Service
Social Inclusion
We want to supply and run an extra day of craft/games/other activities for our service users and enhance the project and its benefits.
About this cause
We are a 4 part organisation 1. Telephone Befriending – 2. Home Visits - 3. Oasis Craft Group 4. Out & About Service – is all about taking service users out into the community socially and practically. We would take them shopping and out for a tea or coffee. We aim to reduce social isolation, loneliness and inclusion into the local community by providing all of the above. People attending our service have requested that we have an additional day of our befriending service as they have indicated that extra support will assist them.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will help by bringing social inclusion, giving training in IT skills that will be required for job applications for those who attend who are looking for jobs. People who attend have a feeling of belonging and feel their confidence lifting as the weeks go on.
