About this cause
Hammerwich cricket club is regarded as an important community facility. It is used regularly by the public for all kinds of celebrations and wakes, by local schools that do not have cricket pitches. It is on offer to local organisations for fundraising events. Various clubs use HCC for their meetings. The committee hold special events for CASS the young carers organisation to provide respite for the young people ages ranging from 6-18. Special needs groups also enjoy the clubhouse and grounds. Objectives to continue making HCC available to the community which proves each year happens more and more. The grounds are set back from a main road that makes it a very safe venue, especially for children and the place to be during school holidays for young cricketers to practice.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Besides regular use on all match days local school teams and visitors will enjoy equipment that matches the rest of the club facilities at the moment the scoreboard is remembered for all the wrong reasons as it has ceased to be fully functional.
