Central Yorkshire County Scout Council
Young People
We are seeking funding for equipment to further develop and expand activities for children and young people at Aldwark.
About this cause
Scouting provides young people with opportunities to learn, develop and grow and engage with their communities. Central Yorkshire Scouts provide these opportunities to a massive 6,600 young people. We offer young people the opportunity to access affordable water sports activities at our much loved and respected Water Sports Centre at Aldwark. We deliver a range of weekend residential courses, full day courses and evening sessions. Through a rich programme of water activities and coaching we stretch and challenge their physical and problem solving skills. We are able to offer young people this opportunity due to the dedication and commitment of our fantastic volunteer Crew who offer their time and expertise to ensure the safe and successful delivery of our ‘on the water’ programme.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Young people that have attended Aldwark leave with great memories, water skills, safety awareness, increased confidence and leadership skills. Many of our young people re-invest these skills back into scouting, becoming young members of our Crew and supporting future generations to access these unique opportunities. We want to make these opportunities even more accessible to more young people.
