About this cause

Oakdale and Penmaen Community Partnership was formed in 2004. The group came together to improve the local environment and to create a sense of belonging and responsibility within the former mining villages of Oakdale and Penmaen. The group has delivered numerous projects, including a youth skate park, various art-works, woodland regeneration, tree-planting, and annual floral displays and Christmas lights in the main square of the village. We support all other voluntary organisations in the community with encouragement, endorsement as needed, and regular publicity through our community newsletter 'TOPP News' which is delivered free to over 2,000 homes.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will give a sense of pride, belonging and ownership to local residents in the forming mining villages of Oakdale and Penmaen. It will encourage the active participation of residents of all ages to get involved with community initiatives for the benefit of both current and future generations.
