We want to provide equipment and staff training to give pupils access to forest-school type activities and natural environment education.
About this cause
Powerstock School Association exists to enrich the experience of every pupil at Powerstock School, by fundraising to provide extra-curricular activities, resources and experiences that let pupils move beyond the standard school curriculum. Recent projects have included funding woodwork classes, providing equipment for outdoor learning and professional artist and storytelling sessions.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Powerstock School is set in a small, rural village in an area where many pupils come from farming families or those involved in rural industries. These children are more likely than most to be future stewards of the countryside; by providing the appropriate resources, pupils can be taught about their responsibilities to nature and make better use of local facilities (i.e community orchard).
