Eyres Monsell Club For Young People
Young People
We are looking for funding to help towards training costs, equipment and staff resources.
About this cause
The Eyres Monsell Club for Young People is a youth centre. Eyres Monsell is an area of social deprivation in Leicester City West, it is among some of the most disadvantaged wards in the whole of Leicestershire. The area suffers from anti-social behaviour and there are a lack of opportunities for young people to use their recreational time constructively. We work with young people aged 8-25 years old. Many of the young people that attend the youth centre are hard to reach disaffected young people who often don’t engage and participate in positive activities. We help young people to develop their self-esteem, self-confidence and help encourage their personal and social development. Enabling them to become responsible citizens within their community, and helping them develop new skills.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By running our volunteers academy once a week we help to develop key life skills to help them flourish in everyday life. We help them to build relationships between one another, improve social skills, teach them leaderships skills that they can use when leading activities in the youth club, peer mentoring to boost self confidence and put them through courses like asdans, first aid and food hygiene.
