About this cause
Midshires is dedicated to providing emergency response to protect the life of high risk, missing and vulnerable people in the Community. Our charity does not employ any staff, its volunteers are committed to helping persons with mental health issues (including suicide risk) and Alzheimer/dementia sufferers. Our trained volunteers operate in woodland, quarries, watercourses, nature reserves & farmland. We are capable of responding rapidly to find people alive and render assistance. Midshires’ team of 40 operational members give up their time to be available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week throughout the year. To maintain their skills they each put in over 60 hours of training a year. We do not receive any government funding and support our charity through public donations.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our highly visible Incident Command Vehicle is a focus of the public’s attention when deployed to emergency situations and thus might be the first port of call for people seeking first aid assistance. To adequately respond, it requires to be equipped with paramedic style medical equipment to allow our trained First Responders to provide lifesaving intervention if confronted by a medical crises
