We want to replace the school mini-bus so the children can be taken to activities out of school, and also provide new playground equipment.
About this cause
The Friends of Briary is a charity fundraising for the benefit of all the children of Briary Primary school and Pre-School. We aim to provide extras not funded by the Education budget to enhance the learning experience, environment and fun activities for all the children. We have funded visits from Theatre groups, animal encounter visits and books for the library.We hold Summer & Christmas Fairs, Disco's, Quiz nights, Mothers/Fathers Day shops all enjoyed by the local community. We are currently raising funds to replace the School mini bus ,we are looking to raise £10,000. The minibus is regularly used to take the children to Forest School, swimming & other Schools for sporting competitions ,educational visits. We are also looking to provide the children with some new play equipment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Briary School is used by a variety of community groups, and is very involved with the Greenhill community. Most of the pupils live in Greenhill. The new play equipment would be a shared resource for all who use the school grounds/facilities. The mini-bus would enable the school to take more children out in the community,enable the choir go to more homes and clubs to perform to more residents.
