About this cause

Westland Countryside Stewards (WCS) was set up with the aim of securing and managing land of environmental value in North Cornwall. It promotes habits where native species can thrive and wherever possible, the aim is to make such land available for the benefit of the local community. Our Aims: to promote the conservation, of the physical and natural environment in rural areas; to promote the conservation of the physical and natural environment by promoting biodiversity; to promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public by conservation; to advance the education of the public in subjects relating to sustainable development and the protection, enhancement, and rehabilitation of the environment, and promote study and research in such subjects.

How this cause brings people in the community together

'Balsam Bashing' volunteer events will be advertised so locals can get involved in the project. Once completed, the local community can enjoy the diverse range of flora and fauna on the common. Walkers enjoy the common and with an increase in the diversity of wildlife, we can further improve nature walks which we offer to the public for a small donation.
