About this cause

We are a Church of England Primary School in Rishton with 189 children. We work closely with St Peter and St Paul's Church and Pre-School in the same village. Our school motto is 'Learn, Love and Laugh Together' alongside the church motto 'Here for Christ, There for Others' I am Headteacher at school and also Chair of the voluntary Pre-Sch Committee. We want to work with children, families and local church community: 1. To install a polytunnel for members of church community to share their gardening skills with children. 2. Grow organic fruit and veg for childrens' lunches/church social lunches. 3. To develop sensory garden with a quiet, reflective area. 4. Areas for children with behavioural difficulties to take responsibility for and for people with Special Needs to experience.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The project will bring people of all ages and backgrounds together in a community project that is completely free for them to access. It will provide opportunity for members of the church community to share their skills with young people whist developing community relationships. Through being outside and by growing organic produce we can encourage the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
