About this cause
Home start Surrey Heath is a local family support charity. Our trained volunteers visit families in their own homes to help them cope with the stresses and strains of bringing up a young family when things get tough. Our volunteers transform the life chance of children and families in the UK. We are a unique service, last year the scheme supported 51 families and 121 children. We want to increase the confidence and independence of parents, strengthening relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community. Our scheme would like to run a volunteer preparation course next year which will train up to ten more volunteers to help support families in your local area. The local Co-op store is on our office doorstep, on the Frimley road.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our scheme helps the local community by making parents and children by making them less isolated, more nursery and school ready, helping to integrate in local communities and using local services.
