We want a colourful community newspaper to spread Dyffryn Nantlle's news.
About this cause
A monthly community newspaper,run by volunteers,established in 1974,Lleu's objectives are to provide a Welsh language newspaper and support people within the community to volunteer in providing articles, fundraising etc.Lleu has a committee, is annually audited, and supported by the Welsh government. Annual general meetings are held appropriately,and monthly committee meetings.The paper uses a range of methods to attract contributions: there are designated 'reporters' for each village, we have a host e-mail, and a facebook page, and a local newsbox for paper copies.This application relates to a new initiative to print in colour: this proves to be more expensive (around £5k p.a.extra);we aim to review the success and sustainability of this initiative by the end of the 2018-19 financial year
How this cause brings people in the community together
Letting people know about what's happening in the community, articles written by members of that community, spreading the news about local successes and new initiatives. Promoting volunteering and bringing people together; supporting diversity in promoting the Welsh language.
