About this cause
Created in August 2012 in loving memory of 23-month old Reuben Graham from nearby Mottram, our charity provides a sanctuary for families coping with the serious illness or loss of a precious child. We work with vulnerable families predominantly from Greater Manchester to offer relief and respite from gruelling hospital routines and care-giving through short breaks, enabling them to spend time together as a family, having fun and creating life-long memories emotional and practical support and guidance in a caring and supportive community for families of children unlikely to reach adulthood -counselling, support and holistic therapies for bereaved siblings and parents, providing a safe place where they can unmask their pain knowing that there is no need to hide it, reduce it or fix it
How this cause brings people in the community together
Loving & living with a complexly poorly child impacts the entire family and relationships invariably suffer, with 36% of families breaking down. Worse still, figures show that around 75% of families break down following the loss of a child. Our tailored programmes bridge a huge gap in services for vulnerable families from local communities & supports them through the most challenging of times.
