About this cause

Lyonshall Memorial Hall was built in the 1930's to commemorate the fallen from the parish during the Great War. The Hall provides facilities to the people of Lyonshall and surrounding villages. It is used by a variety of different groups of all ages, at an affordable price. Groups include Mums and Tots, Upholstery Class, Bridge Club and Tai Chi. It hosts regular Coffee Mornings, PCC and Parish Council meetings, Private parties, Wedding and Funeral receptions and is the local Polling Station. It is for the use of the Community and is an important centre for community events. Our Hall is outdated and needs refurbishment to keep existing groups and attract new ones as our local population grows. The floor is our main critical priority, with further improvement planned if finances permit.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We aim to provide an attractive alternative to other facilities in adjacent villages, and we want to attract more groups from the community to maximise the use of the hall. We are hoping to involve the whole community and harness a local workforce with diverse talents and skills. We hope in turn, they will take ownership of the hall once again and realise what an asset it is for the whole village.
