We need funds to run a Freedom Programme to help women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse move on to a better, safer future.
About this cause
Julian House offers direct support to the homeless & socially excluded. The organisation has developed projects which not only address the symptoms of homelessness, but also tackles the underlying complex causes inc.; domestic abuse, mental health, physical health needs, offending, substance misuse & unemployment. We empower our service users to develop their skills, resilience & independence to rebuild a future for themselves through 20 projects & 125 beds. These include; emergency hostel for rough sleepers & single homeless people; specialist supported housing inc. mental health, domestic abuse, criminal justice & substance; community outreach for rough sleepers & social enterprise projects providing structured training, accredited qualifications, work experience & employment support.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Domestic Abuse ruins lives, breaks up families and has a lasting impact across the generations. When women arrive at our projects they are usually highly stressed after having lived in a state of fear for a long time. The Freedom Program helps women & children who are experiencing domestic abuse, move on to a better, safer and more independent future; free from fear and abuse.
