Alyth Youth Partnership
Young People
We would like to buy a new minibus to take our young people away on trips, access leisure facilities, and support other groups in our town.
About this cause
AYP is a charitable organisation in the small town of Alyth, Perthshire, providing activities and clubs for young people in the area. We work with 70 - 80 young people each week across our 2 youth clubs, drop in centre for teenagers, music group, school support and gardening group. We are open 5 nights a week, and run programmes throughout the holidays. Through generous grant support and our own fundraising we have provided our young people with opportunities to travel to places in Scotland and abroad, giving them experiences that they will never forget. In our drop in centre we offer a safe place to relax, support from our youth workers, and advice with education and careers. We work in partnership with schools and social work to engage with young people who need our support most.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We work with around 80 different young people each week and are well known in the community for supporting the young people who most need it. Our minibus is also used to support community groups including the Scouts, Guides, football team, schools, and over 50 group. The community benefits from having affordable transport which allows our town to be active and involved in events across the county.
