We would love to buy a mud kitchen for the pre-school garden and help children to develop important physical, social and emotional skills.
About this cause
Wollaston & Strixton Pre-School was established in 1966. We are a community Pre-School which is run by a Voluntary Management Committee of elected parents/ carers. The Pre-School is located in the Way building in the grounds of Wollaston Community Primary School. The Way building was purpose built with our small children in mind and offers excellent modern facilities for play and learning during our Pre-School sessions. We also have direct access to our own secure garden space for ‘free flow’ play outside. We provide a friendly and caring environment in which we strive to meet the individual needs of the children. Our session planning is driven by the interests and needs of the children so as to make learning fun but at the same time challenging.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Being located within the Primary School site is a huge benefit to the Pre-school children of Wollaston as many of the children will continue their education at the Primary School when they are old enough. The school is no longer a scary place but a place they are comfortable and secure in. We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful outdoor play area that will be enhanced by the mud kitchen.
