We want to give our clients entertainment they enjoy, and would like to book singers and musicians.
About this cause
We run a day care centre for the elderly Monday to Friday catering for 187 elderly clients most of whom are otherwise housebound. We supply a breakfast and lunch as well as ongoing refreshments, the opportunity for a bath in specially adapted baths, we have a hairdressing service and visiting chiropodist and optician. Most importantly they have company and companionship with varied optional activities, with the reassuring knowledge that trained carers are always in attendance to offer whatever assistance is required. Our objective is to continue this service for as long as financially possible. The grant money would supply musical entertainment once a month for each weekday as different clients come each day, as with rising running costs we are no longer able to do this.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It would very much benefit our 187 clients and with other day centres closing, we are anticipating a rise in our client base, thus improving the quality of life for as many local elderly as possible
