About this cause

Scouts is for the benefit of young people of both sexes from 10 to 25 years & is about giving them opportunities to do things that they may not otherwise have. Activities that encourage the them to be adventurous and to actively seek out opportunities to develop their confidence and life skills. Scouts take part in a diverse range of activities such as camping, first aid, canoeing, abseiling, fire building, acting, caving, shooting, archery, singing, woodwork etc. These benefit them in many ways such as helping to gain a better understanding of their strengths & weaknesses, find new interests & hobbies & to grow new friendships. Our objective is to support the young people on their journey, whichever path they choose, whether it be saving lives, getting a job or changing the world.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our group is popular with many young people from the local community attending from as young as 6, our Beaver group. They are involved in many community activities which encourages community cohesion such as our annual Santa run provided for the benefit of the whole community. The scouts have made posters inviting other young people to join them in completing the DofE awards and other activities.
