About this cause

The Phoenix Canoe Club and Phoenix Outdoor Centre are located next to the Brent (Welsh Harp) Reservoir. We are affiliated to British Canoeing and run by volunteer coaches and helpers, offering a warm welcome to new members. We have both Junior (min. age 9 years) and Senior sections with an active programme of training, events and activities. The Phoenix Outdoor Centre was started in 2011 and now caters for over 6,500 attendances per annum from schools, colleges, youth, community and disability groups. The Centre offers kayaking, canoeing, bell boating, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, raft building, team building and orienteering. We are underway with our plans to re-build the Centre and grounds to provide a modern, fit for purpose watersports activity hub for the area.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The new building will provide a watersports hub for the local area, a new climbing wall, community cafe, meeting space and somewhere that young people and adults can learn exciting new skills in a safe environment through the Outdoor Centre & Club. The new building will be accessible to all and increase our ability to work with disabled people.
