We want to purchase replacement safety nets and poles to protect a public right of way and houses from flying cricket balls.
About this cause
The Dulverton Sports Field Charity has four different sports affiliated with it at senior level they are Cricket, Football, Squash and Tennis three of these also have Junior's. All the clubs are encouraged to engage and promote their particular sport with local people to Dulverton and its surrounding parishes. The Sports Field Charities objective's are to supply an area in Dulverton where sport can be played safely, with good amenities and playing surfaces. They also want to encourage the local community young or old to play sport.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will help the cricket club in making sure they can continue playing cricket, there are several adults and many children from Dulverton belong to the club. Without the nets the club will have to stop playing due to health and safety requirements. To loose this facility will take away from the community something that has been in existence for over 75 years.
