We want to buy a van and storage to enable our work to continue in stopping families suffering abuse in silence and to become survivors.
About this cause
HVDV provides individuals and families with the tools to enable them to become survivors of domestic violence and live a life free of suffering and abuse. From the time they turn up at the refuge with only the clothes they are wearing hvdv puts it wheels into motion providing individuals and families with clothes, toys and emergancy needs. While in the refuge the support continues with any items they may need from a stroller to complete baby items. Once the families are homed hvdv fullfills the wishes of the families by providing everything from a tea spoon to a bed, from a sofa to a microwave. We give them the chance to sustain independance to avoid them returning to the perpetrator where in fact they could in time end up dead. HVDV continues its support until they are needed.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Hvdv works within the community collecting items of clothing and furnature alot of the donors have seen or suffered domestic violence in their life so it gives them the hope in knowing they have helped a family/individual start a life free of Sexual, Mental, physical,Financial or hounor based Violence. That could have ended in death. It helps the families to restore their faith in the community.
