About this cause

We help over 20,000 children & adults in Norfolk who are losing their sight or are already blind. We have a care home with 37 residents over the age of 50, 20 independent living flats for the over 18 year olds and 4 equipment centres throughout Norfolk. We also have 10 community home visitors that cover the county visiting people in their home, so that they can remain independent as they lose their sight. We run numerous activities to help our members stay active, we also run trips out with specialist care, so that they can enjoy the experiences that full sighted people can enjoy. Our aims & objectives are to be there for anyone who is losing their sight and to support their families through this process.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will benefit anyone who just needs that time away, to help with their health & wellbeing. Many people who are losing their sight do suffer with mental health, as losing this sense can be a grieving process. A sensory garden can not only help to relax that person, but the smells, sounds & nature that is around, can pick somebodies spirit up & allow them to look at the positive things that exist.
