About this cause

We are a large Infant school with 293 pupils between the ages of four and seven years old, with children coming from Pagham, Nytimber, Rose Green and Aldwick but also further afield. The PTA work together with the school to provide the additional extras that just aren't affordable within the schools budgets. Sadly this year the school has had to replace a boiler, heating system and also address uneven outside surfaces which are unsafe. The fundraising work that the PTA does enables us to provide a wide variety of projects both large and small within the school community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

A local ceramic artist will come to the school, she will teach the children how to make their own tile from clay, these will then be taken away to be fired. The children will design an individual number which will then be copied onto the tiles by the children, this will then be fired again. Once all the children have completed their tiles they will be installed around the perimeter of the school building so they maybe used by the children during their playtime and outdoor classroom activities. The community will be able to see the artwork on open days and school fairs and sport days, it will be visible and colourful, standing out against the brick building. A permanent addition to the building, it will be there for many years to come, the children will be able to revisit their artwork.
