We want to create an outdoor educational space to help us celebrate our 50th birthday so children can enjoy and learn for many more years.
About this cause
We are an award winning Welsh language playgroup for children aged 2.5 to school age and offer early education. The majority of children come from non-Welsh speaking homes and attending a Cylch Meithrin is the first step in starting their Welsh language education. In 2018 we will be celebrating 50 years and for over 40 years have been based in the middle of the town centre. We now have an opportunity to move so that we can have space to offer more children the opportunity to attend. We want to embark on Prosiect Enfys (The Rainbow Project) - bridging the indoor education with the outdoors. We have a total blank canvas outdoors (the first time ever we have had a large outdoor space for the children) and need financial assistance to develop it into a safe and educational space.
How this cause brings people in the community together
There is demand for Welsh language education in the Wrecsam area. There is a need for our provision to expand so that we can offer more children a place. We have been running 50 years, and there are many many children from the community benefited from coming through our setting - and long may it continue. Outdoor learning is so important, not enough children get the opportunity to play outside
