We want to run cook and eat sessions for our tenants and need food and equipment.
About this cause
Ripon YMCA provides supported housing for 16 to 35 year olds. Working in partnership we strive to support local young people to develop skills, engage in training, education or work and move towards independent living, whilst providing them with somewhere safe and secure to live. We aim to move our young people from dependence to independence as positive members of the community. It is important that our tenants have a fresh start when they come to us so they have the best chance of succeeding. We work holistically with our tenants and identify their individual barriers and strengths. Through our work we are able to provide wrap around support to enable our tenants to move forward positively.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By working with various community volunteers and having "guest cooks" sharing their dishes we hope that the community will see our young people positively. In providing an opportunity for our tenants we are moving them towards becoming a successful active community members in the future, who will hopefully give their time back to similar projects.
