About this cause

We are a community based charity in the Beighton Ward of Sheffield focussed mainly on older people. Our objective is ‘the provision of a community centre’ run by Volunteers. We 0pen 7 days a week with activities including a weekly Lunch Club for approx. 60 elderly people, as well as classes for Computers; Tablets; Art & Dance; Mother & Toddler group and Charity shop. Beighton has a substantial older population and the Limes is well used by people aged 5-95 years many of whom suffer from loneliness and isolation. We provide a friendly, welcoming Project run by people who care and who put their ‘heart and soul’ into ensuring that the local elderly, lonely and infirm have the opportunity to benefit from much valued social interaction and don’t become marginalized or forgotten about.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Beighton has a substantial older community and the Limes is an integral part and provides a friendly, hands-on Project run by volunteers who care. Volunteers who put their ‘heart and soul’ into ensuring the local elderly, lonely and infirm have the opportunity to benefit from much valued social interaction and not become marginalized or forgotten about. Our Project will help this service continue.
