About this cause
Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership (THEBP) is a leading education charity inspiring young people aged between 4-19 to learn more, do more, and become more. Our goal is to end poverty of opportunity through education and through partnerships with businesses. We are the bridge between students and employers. Our programmes utilise business volunteers from locally based companies to enable us to deliver effective, high quality interventions in schools bringing the support of the community into the classroom. Projects are designed to raise pupils’ aspirations, develop vital employability and life skills, preparing them for further education, training and employment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Poor numeracy skills are associated with long-term unemployment levels. The BEE Programme develops children's numerical and financial capability and employability skills which are fundamental to improving their life chances and achieving future economic well-being. In the long term, this will help to break down the cycle of generational unemployment in the local community.
