About this cause

We are a small group of fundraisers formed to raise sufficient funds to repair our beautiful village church (leaking roof, inadequate heating and lighting, no toilet or refreshment facilities etc) in order that it may be returned to the village community for their continued used. Predominantly agricultural, the village has a population of approx. 2000. The church is currently predominantly used for weddings, funerals, and church services and occasional social events during the year, but the atmosphere is cold, damp and unwelcoming. Events held there to raise money are restricted in duration due to the above. One of our main aims is to establish a community space within the church that will be responsive to the needs and requirements of elderly and isolated people within our midst.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Once the above updates have been completed, funding will be secured to remove some of the pews to create a more serviceable community space to allow us to host coffee mornings, hold meetings, host music events and exhibitions. The events held in the past have created an amazing community feeling and brought the community together, however have been restricted due to the lack of facilities.
