About this cause
We provide a Meals on Wheels Service to the elderly and disabled within the parishes of Lingfield, Dormansland and Crowhurst. Freshly cooked, nutritional meals are prepared in dedicated kitchens on a daily basis Monday to Thursday with a Fish & Chip option on Friday. The meals are cooked and delivered entirely by teams of local volunteers. We also provide a lunch Club one day each week for those that are able to access this facility. The service is invaluable to those who would otherwise find it difficult to feed themselves. We pride ourselves in being one of the few remaining services of this kind which are run by volunteers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our cooks will look more professional with personalised aprons and it will help to promote our service within the community as people visiting the building will be more aware of the service we provide. New pieces of equipment will improve the cooking service and thus will improve the quality of the meals provided to local residents.
