The Grove Schools' PTA
Education & Skills
We want to improve/extend the reading facilities in The Grove infant and junior schools to encourage a passion for reading in our pupils.
About this cause
Who the PTA helps? The Grove Schools' PTA encourages a strong link between parents, teachers and children (600+pupils) at both The Grove Infant and Nursery School and The Grove Junior School. What does the PTA do for them/the PTA's objectives? - We aim to engage and encourage parents to contribute to the way the schools are run through fund raising activities aimed at involving as many children and and parents as possible - The money raised through such fundraising events is used on projects in both schools that enhance pupils' educational, social, play and emotional skills - recent projects include provision of iPads, educational resources and improved play areas - We also provide support for school events valuing the contribution of all the members of our school community
How this cause brings people in the community together
Want to involve community volunteers, parents & children to help decorate & get involved in the design of the schools' reading areas New reading spaces will enable our community & staff to work in different ways with children to keep reading as a priority e.g. family reading events Aim to invite older community members to support our reading initiatives which we hope would be mutually beneficial
