We need funds for the continued maintenance of the Parish Hall building to keep it fit for purpose and encourage its use.
About this cause
Our Parish Hall is situated in the centre of the village and has become a wonderful hub of activity used by many groups within the community. Mon- Friday classes are held for school aged children in singing, dancing, drama, and karate. On weekends the hall is used for coffee mornings by the Mothers Union, a group aimed at supporting family life, and the Ladies Group who work alongside The Voice of Darton working within the community promoting local charities and events. Individuals within the community often book the hall for family gatherings, birthday parties, and special occasions. Our objective is to create understanding, friendship and support within the community and our church hall provides wonderful opportunities to create links, and bring our community together.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By keeping the building looking smart it will encourage users. Recent funding provided by ourselves this year includes installation of a Fire Alarm system at a Cost of £1640 + vat and new central heating boiler at a cost of £1600. We have had not reviewed any of the hire costs for a number of years and we endeavor to keep the costs to hirers down as much as possible to encourage community use.
