Leybourne Grange Riding Centre for the Disabled
Sport
We want to purchase a new set of showjumps to improve young riders' talents.
About this cause
LGRCD offers horse riding session to disabled and abled bodies riders. For many this is therapy for them and offers them a chance to get out in the open and fresh air. We offer voluntary schemes and work experience placements for school/college students. The objective for the centre is to provide horse riding sessions for disabled riders at a reduced price.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We rely on our able bodied riders to attend riding lessons at the centre to help us fund the disabled riding. We offer this at a reduced rate. Having able bodied riders also brings in volunteers, our volunteers help us run our disabled riding as many of our riders have up to 3 people assist them. We can offer more sessions with their help. This encourages volunteering within the community.
