We want to buy outdoor camping equipment for our growing group, pay the rent for the hall we use and replace our worn out archery kit.
About this cause
5th Wiltshire is an outdoor focused Scout Group based in Ludgershall. We currently have over 70 members in the Group from Ludgershall and surrounding villages and towns. Every year we run on average 12 camps which vary from one night in tents for the youngest to week-long activity camps for our older ones. We have five sections in the Group for ages 6 to 60+ with Beavers, Wolf Cubs, Scouts, Senior Scouts and Rover Scouts for adults. Our programme is based around five key areas: 1) Development of young people through outdoor adventures and experiences 2) Building young people through teamwork and leadership experiences 3) Growing confidence and skills through a staged skills based badge programme 4) Service to others and the community 5) Establishing self respect and respect for others
How this cause brings people in the community together
Ludgershall is starved of facilities for young people leaving them with little to do within walking distance. For over 110 years Scouting has given youngsters from all backgrounds a low cost source of self confidence boosting adventure and activities. By supporting the continued growth and delivery of traditional scouting in Ludgershall this ongoing project will give local youngsters a chance.
