Help support a project that aims to provide therapeutic opportunities for service users at our Low Secure Forensic Unit.
About this cause
We exist to make a difference to the thousands of people cared for by the University Health Board across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire. Our aim is to raise funds to help keep the University Health Board’s services at the highest standards by: • maintaining the best possible environment for care, including building & refurbishing hospital and community facilities; • supporting the provision of the most-up-to-date equipment; • supporting the training and development of staff; • funding research into, and development of, treatments; • delivering healthy living and health promotion initiatives. We do not replace NHS funding but use the generous donations we receive from patients, families & local communities to provide services & activities above & beyond what the NHS can provide.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The unit, based in Carmarthen, supports patients from across the whole of the Hywel Dda area; the counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. These skills are transferable when the service users are discharged as a means of coping with their mental health and possibly linking in with third sector organisations.
