We want to make sure our community space is safe and inviting. We will use funds for carpentry, plumbing, and health & safety experts.
About this cause
Space Generators (SG) is a Charity that utilises empty spaces, converting them into a pop-up creative hubs for local communities and affiliated groups. Local communities lack community spaces where they can connect, learn and support each other. Using meanwhile lease local authority provisions, we act as on-site 24-caretakers, giving landlords piece of mind and helping them improve relations between the council and the wider community. Outcomes: To become a platform for social good innovation, environmental awareness and visionary in using wasted resources. To reduce isolation in local communities and provide a social and working spaces (e.g. hotdesks, artists’ studios), where people can enhance their productivity and creativity in a supportive and appropriate environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project examined the needs of local communities in London, and especially the need to reduce social isolation, the need to promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles, and the need to promote social innovation amongst young people. Communities need spaces where young creatives can meet with likeminded people, exchange ideas and develop both personally and professionally.
