We want to update our stage so that it will attract more professional /amateur entertainers to provide entertainment for the village.
About this cause
Kessingland Sports & Social Centre is a community centre managed by a committee of volunteers for the benifit of the inhabitants of Kessingland and the surrounding area. The centre is used by a variety of groups who's ages range from 0-100years. These include mother and baby groups/elderly friendship club/knit & natter group/ dance group/drama group/keep fit/badminton & bowls. The centre is also available for parties and weddings and for other drama groups in the village to stage their productions. Our objective is that by managing the building and providing facilities of the highest standard we can have a venue for all the community to enjoy.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Although Kessingland is only 5 miles from Lowestoft unless you have your own transport you are unable to get to town in the evenings to the theatre/cinema as public transport is not available. This means that for our elderly and young people there is not much to do. By being able to provide a variety of events it would enable them to have more of a social life and to interact with each other.
