We need to remove pews, relay the floor, and upgrade the heating system to provide more flexible space within the church.
About this cause
This community organisation helps to preserve and maintain the church and churchyard at the centre of the town of Masham. The building is used as a venue for concerts, exhibitions, arts & fund-raising events, local school & youth club activities as well the regular church services. The churchyard provides the only burial ground in Masham and is much used as a quiet space for all to enjoy. The Trust pays for repairs to St Marys Church, it's historic clock, the main roof, external lighting, doors, masonry, stained glass windows while in the churchyard it provides ongoing maintenance for the benches, paths, grass-cutting and associated machinery. The church does not have the resources to fund these costs so the Trust helps to maintain this glorious asset for all the people of Mashamshire.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This will enable the church to offer a more flexible and accessible space for the many community activities that take place in the building eg. catering, concerts, fund raising events, children's activities and exhibitions
