Hilldrop Peace Garden

We'd like to develop an unused, overgrown plot of land into a community peace garden where we can also run nature workshops.
About this cause
Our centre located in Tufnell Park, is a space to bring together local people of all ages and backgrounds. We are proud to offer a variety of services to enhance our great community. As well as hosting various clubs and groups including a monthly film club for isolated older people to meet and socialise with their younger neighbours, Bengali women's groups where women can meet, relax and exercise in a supportive environment, confidence building groups for adults with learning difficulties and so much more. This year our prime objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle including providing activities which encourage movement and exercise and also those which focus on improving mental well being. We hope to renovate our outdoor spaces to help meet and exceed these objectives in the future.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will help with social isolation issues by creating led group activities which can continue to run after the initial project is complete. Pride in and ownership of a public space will encourage good mental well-being. The Peace Garden itself will be a calm green oasis in the city for local people which helps with mental health, the workshops will give local people new skills and confidence.
