We would like to deliver a monthly information and advice session for older people in Tilehurst.
About this cause
Age UK Berkshire provides health and wellbeing services for older people across Berkshire. Services include: Information & Advice, Befriending, Dementia support, shopping, home help, handy person, exercise classes and money management. We believe that everyone can love later life, our objectives are to: Encourage choice and opportunity for older people To provide services that meet older peoples needs To ensure older people are aware of and have access to the benefits which they are entitled To promote positive attitudes towards older people and ageing We currently support 6000 people a year.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By offering advice to older people in their local community library we will help the community as a whole- encouraging local older people to get out and use their local facilities, give them information on other local groups/ places that can help them, offer their families and friends support and advice about the needs of older people, encourage inter generational working through volunteers.
