About this cause

The 10th Royal Eltham group was founded on Shooters Hill in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in 1938. Our Group badge is a silhouette of Severndroog Castle. We have Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scout sections that meet in Shrewsbury House or at our scout hut on Shooters Hill. We seek to provide young people with opportunities to participate in adventurous outdoor activities, learn team-building skills and develop new friendships. We are firmly committed to co-education so that boys and girls can develop together through one programme. We aim to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our group has been an integral part of the local Shooters Hill community since 1938, and we continue to have youngsters from the area joining our Beavers section and staying on through to Explorer Scouts. By raising funds to replace old equipment with new, we will be able to continue organising fun activities and taking current and future members away on trips and expeditions for years to come.
