About this cause

The Bridgnorth Food Bank operates as a Project within the Bridgnorth Community Trust (registered charity 1154617). It's principal purpose is the provision of emergency food assistance to people in need and the alleviation of poverty. It normally supports residents of Bridgnorth and the surrounding villages within a 15 mile radius. The Food Bank is open each Monday from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Number Seven, West Castle Street, when people may bring donations of food and clients who have been referred by a referring agency may come to collect food parcels. In a typical month about 2,600 food items are distributed. In addition clients are offered assistance with related needs such as money management, housing, benefits etc. or directed to other sources of help where appropriate.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our project helps people during times of crisis - often for a short time until benefits are sorted out during illness or following loss of employment. Our help prevents people going without food during periods of hardship and helps to avoid people going into unmanageable debt when their income has reduced.
