We would like to install a trim trail in John Dixon Park to increase options for physical activity, particularly for children.
About this cause
The general purpose of Markinch Community Council is to ascertain, co ordinate and express to Fife Council the views of the community which it represents and to take such action as appears to it to be expedient and practicable. It will encourage and promote community participation and a sense of community spirit. In particular the Community Council will seek to maintain and enhance the environment of the community of Markinch - its natural, physical and social environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will help the community as a whole because the trim trail will not only be used by the children who use the park and the local primary school but also encourage more children to play outdoors. This will improve the overall health and well being of the children and give a sense of ownership to the community as they will be the ones who deliver this project through their generosity.
