We would like to take our Brownies to PGL Dalguise for an outdoor activity weekend.
About this cause
Our Brownies go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures, are active in their local community and have outdoor adventures. As well as following the Brownie Adventure programme, girls can choose to do interest badges related to things they want to know more about, either at meetings or on their own. We believe in letting the girls choose what they want to do at Brownies so our programme is very much led by them. We'd like to apply for funding to take the girls on a PGL pack holiday in 2018, where they will spend a weekend experiencing outdoor adventures and working on skills such as teamwork and problem solving.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We live in an area which is classed as deprived, so we work hard to give our Brownies opportunities they would otherwise miss out on due to financial hardship/family circumstances. The joy they get from the events we take them to have a lasting effect on their confidence and our unit has a good reputation for offering a variety of activities and opportunities, something we're keen to maintain.
