About this cause

The Space Centre is unique. It is the largest and most versatile multi-sensory enviroment in the UK. Our Mission Statement is "To provide a place where those with physical, learning or emotional difficulties may more easily acquire skills and enjoy experiences usually denied them". SPACE objectives are to enable freedom for clients to move in safety. Build confidence and motivation, increasing learning potential Encourage relaxation in a calm and controlled atmosphere. Wheelchair users to be free of their chairs and experience different positions Enable Life Skills to be developed. Encourage Communication and much more. The facility is open to both children and adults and covers both the local community and further afield.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will allow users of the Space Centre to go outiside as well as use the internal areas of SPACE. The centre is also open to able bodied children for parties, so this will allow other users to benefit the area as well. The woodland walk will be part of a much larger project of a sensory garden, which is situated in the same grounds. Overall it extends our facility to the outside space safely.
