We need to refurbish our space so we can distribute sportswear and sports equipment to young people living in poverty.
About this cause
The Cathie Stankevitch Foundation delivers community projects primarily for children and young people who are living in poverty and/or areas of deprivation, with a particular focus on Halton, to include Widnes and Runcorn, and the surrounding areas. Our projects aim to alleviate social isolation and break down inclusion barriers. We are supported through our community projects by over 40 local schools and we identify with school support, opportunities that will make a measurable difference for identified children and young people. The people that are engaged with us gain self confidence, boost self esteem, learn new skills, make new friends and ultimately achieve the prospect of having a much brighter future where they are afforded the same opportunities as everybody else.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have recently ran the project as a 'pilot' and engaged with over 70 local families over the course of 3 days, to provide them with moulded football boots to enable the children to participate in the Widnes Schools Games at the local rugby stadium. Without our support, these 70+ children, would not have been able to take part with their friends. We now want to expand, to help more local families
