About this cause

Stirling Gaelic choir exists to promote the Gaelic language and culture and to enable members to participate in cultural events and activities. it is a community based organisation and is inclusive of all members irrespective of nationality, gender, sexual orientation, etc. It is recognised that singing is good for mental health and self esteem and something everyone can enjoy. The choir is very supportive of all its members. We provide musical and language tuition and feedback is very positive. We have been in existence for almost 70 years and participate in civic events and cultural activities in our community. We have also travelled throughout Scotland and to Ireland, France and Canada as ambassadors for our community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

There is only one Gaelic school in the Stirling area and other children cannot join their cultural activities. This will benefit and give opportunities to all children and benefit the community which will continue to have a junior and senior choir to maintain our cultural traditions. Having a vibrant cultural life is stimulating and many children join Gaelic choirs to improve language skills.
