Parklands Special School
Education & Skills
We want to buy and access resources to develop health and wellbeing, physical and creative activities for the pupils of Parklands school.
About this cause
Parklands school is a special school in Helensburgh that caters for children and young people aged 5-18 who have an additional support need of a severe/complex nature. The school roll is at 23 full time pupils but we also offer in reach outreach for pupils within mainstream schools in the area to provide sessions that are focussed at their additional support need. The school believes in encouraging our pupils to be as independent as possible and focus on communication, health and wellbeing and basic life skills to ensure our pupils can live as independent a life after school.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Parklands is used as a community resource at present with purchase of more equipment, the community alongside the school pupils would benefit. The pupils would also be able to access the facilities during holidays. The pupils would benefit from accessing the activities which will provide parents with children who are mentally and emotionally fir for everyday life.
