About this cause

We provide an on-line entertainment radio service to the patients, visitors and staff at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW), Cardiff where we are based. Founded in 1967, Radio Glamorgan (RG) is run entirely by volunteers, the station's main objective is to make patients’ stay in hospital as pleasant and stress free as possible. RG broadcasts online. The service we provide to patients aims to combat feelings of isolation and loneliness. RG also seeks to enhance the lives of the many volunteers (approx 45) who participate in varied activities for the station, by fundraising, broadcasting, managing the charity, engaging with health professionals, visiting patients on the wards and all the work that goes into keeping the radio station on the air 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
