About this cause

Power Pleas Trust founded 30 years ago provides wheelchairs, trikes and other mobility aids for young people with disabilities in the Wolverhampton area. The totally voluntary committee includes paediatrician, physiotherapist, main and special school staff, parents, wheelchair user and a qualified accountant. The main activity at present is Trikes provision and support for disabled sport. The late Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint has been succeeded as Patron by Jacquie Oatley, sports journalist and Richard Skirrow, retired Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club Secretary. The charity was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2014. The current Chair was the first recipient of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award presented by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Providing individual children with Trikes gives them greater independence, frees families and careers, and improves their well being helping them to become better contributors in the Community.
